Surfboard shaper Chris Christenson designed the rocker profile and base contours of the Storm Chaser Split using the refined dimensions of his fastest gliding surfboards. The result is an explosively fast powder rocket that packs insane float into a nimble, short board. The ultra-wide midsection and 3D Contour Base 3.0 help maximise the float of the short run and the Surf Rocker profile lifts the nose even further out of the snow when rocking into a turn. Riding style The Surfy Speed Racer for ascent and descent. The Storm Chaser Split is a powerful swallowtail that offers magical uplift in the pow and radical carving potential. Shape The Directional Shape, in combination with the Swallow Tail, provides massive floatation and absolute edge control. Profile This splitboard comes with a special tip/tail rocker profile designed by surf shaper Chris Christenson for the Mind Expander, Mountain Surfer and Storm Chaser. The nose rocker starts just inside the front inserts and the tail rocker starts just at the rear inserts. When you load the tail of the board, the nose lifts out of the snow for insane uplift on the deepest days. These subtle rocker contours match the rocker profile of a Christenson surfboard. It also comes with the freeride-focused 3D Contour Base with a balance of 7mm Spoon Bevel in the nose and 7mm Spoon Bevel in the tail. The Spoon Bevel starts at the rocker point. Flex The stiff flex provides control and responsiveness in any situation. Construction The FCSâ„¢ Control Core is a double-density solid wood core with paulownia and poplar stringers. An extremely durable sintered 8000 material made of Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene (UHMW-PE) and carbon is used in the base. The coating is easy to repair, highly wax-absorbent and incredibly fast. A bi-directional, two-ply stitched fibreglass laminate, provides a forgiving and bite-free ride. All Jones Boards are made with oversized recycled steel edges to increase durability and improve production sustainability. Bio Resin is a bio-based epoxy resin that consists of 27 % plant-based carbon instead of petroleum-based carbon. The organic raw materials used to produce bio-resin are by-products or waste products of plant-based industrial processes. The production of bio-resin causes 33 % less greenhouse gas emissions than conventional epoxy resin. The Storm Chaser comes with the Flip-Flop Base. This minimises waste in production. There may be different colouring on the base. Jones boards are waxed directly from the factory with WEND natural wax and can be ridden immediately. In addition, Jones use a topsheet made from organic plastic, produced from castor beans. This eco-material is ultra-light, splinter and scratch resistant as well as water and snow repellent (snow sticks less to the topsheet). Karakoram clips The Solution Split comes with Karakoram UltraClips 2.0 and Tip Locks. The adjustable tension of the Ultra Clips brings the two halves of your splitboard together unsurpassed. Stainless steel reinforcements are embedded in the nose and tail for increased tip resistance.
